This is our Kitchen & Office registry. From coffees for maintaining focus with our ADHD students (our teachers, volunteers, and community meetings appreciate this as well), and other drinks to paper products and printer toner we are ALWAYS in need of these things.
Coffee is good for students (without added sugar) because it helps the ADHD brain to calm and focus, it helps the autistic brain to “straighten” and focus, and it gives a little uplift to those who are foot-dragging in the morning.
Tea is an alternative for those who don’t like coffee, or those who switch to a lesser caffeinated drink in the afternoon. This Chai Spiced Apple is a seasonal favorite.
Keeping our students hydrated is important, especially on days when we engage in increased activity, like going to the park for workouts, tennis, or frisbee, or set up indoor obstacle courses. Internal overheating and poor diets also leads to the need for drinking electrolytes:
Instant Oatmeal is a quick and healthier breakfast or snack option for our students. Having this on hand is necessary to prevent them from becoming sluggish when they haven't eaten in the morning or hangry when they forgot to bring a snack or lunch.
One thing every student loves? Macaroni & Cheese. They can cook it for their lunches. We teach them how to make meals and casseroles with easy to make foods. We can go through 5-7 of these a week if we had them available!
Popcorn is a healthy snack that is enjoyed by just about everyone in the school. We can go through 3-5 bags a week.
Candy for rewards. I thought I never would do this, but it is a student-welcome incentive that works for garnering participation in discussions and being prepared for the next lesson. These are also cheaper than other types of incentives which take a build up of points or collection of Kishami play money to earn.
Nyla, our service dog, is loved by all. We want to keep her healthy with her vitamins and minerals

Kishami Academy has its own library -- we use the public library weekly, checking out 1000’s of books a year. Some of those books we have checked out many, many times. This list helps us complete sets in our library and add sets that students or teachers have read and would like to have full access to. We also have books to add to our in-house resources: we have read these books and know that they will be used time and again in reading groups, lesson plans, and lending to our families.
Our STEM area is lacking in tools for exploration and extended lessons. We have many books and have learned many things, but in-house experiments are expensive to buy supplies for. Science, Technology, Engineering, Woodworking, Mathematics, and more. We are always looking to engage our students -- hands-on learning increases comprehension and future possibilities.
Events and Outdoor Activities: For our outdoor activities, like physical education, and for the community or autistic events we attend.
Thank you for your support!
